Start with what you have
Could your property work?
You don't need a campground or a full RV park. Many kinds of property can work if they cover a few basics.
Properties that can work
- Private propertyA space or two at a home, farm, or ranch
- Land or acreageSimple RV parking or developed spaces on larger properties
- Small RV propertySeveral spaces with shared or individual amenities
- RV park or campgroundList available spaces for longer-term RV stays
- RV storageUnused land or parking for monthly storage
The basics you need
- Safe accessAn RV can enter, maneuver, and leave comfortably.
- Usable parkingA reasonably stable, level surface. Paving isn't required.
- Enough spaceRoom for the RV, its slide-outs, and a vehicle.
Local rules: Hosts are responsible for following any local or zoning requirements that apply to their property.
Helpful additions can include electric, water, sewer or septic, Wi-Fi, lighting, shade, privacy, and an improved parking surface. Useful, but not required.

Utilities
Do I need full hookups?
No. Full hookups help, but they aren't required for every HookHub listing.
- No hookupsCan work for storage and some parking or stay setups.
- Partial hookupsWater and/or electric.
- Full hookupsWater, electric, and sewer or septic.
More utilities can make a space useful to more renters, but full hookups aren't required for every listing.
Your role as a host
What do I have to do as a host?
You don't need to run a traditional check-in or manage every day of the stay. Your role comes down to responding when needed and providing the property as described.
Respond within 24 hours
Reply to renter messages and booking communication within 24 hours.
Keep your listing accurate
Keep space details, photos, hookups, amenities, access, and rules up to date.
Provide the property as described
Keep the space, access, utilities, and included amenities working as your listing says.
Keep availability current
Block dates in your host calendar when the space isn't available, and honor confirmed stays.
Set clear rules and follow local requirements
Share your property rules and follow applicable zoning, HOA, and permit requirements.
HookHub helps handle the rest
- Renter ID verification, with background checks on request
- Booking requests and Instant Book
- Payments and payouts
- Messaging with renters
No in-person check-in required. Add check-in instructions when you create your property, and renters see them with their booking.
The long-stay difference
One renter. One setup. Weeks or months of occupancy.
Renters bring their own living space, and longer stays can mean fewer arrivals and departures. You'll still stay in touch and keep the space in good shape.
- Nightly hospitality
- Often higher per-night pricing, but generally more frequent arrivals, departures, and turnover
- Long-term RV hosting
- May have a lower nightly equivalent, but can mean fewer turnovers and potentially more consistent occupancy
Pricing your space
What should I charge?
Rates vary by property, and you set your own price for each stay type you offer. Most come down to four things.

Local demand, nearby jobs and attractions, seasonality
Your space
Size, access, parking surface, privacy
Utilities and amenities
Electric, water, sewer, Wi-Fi, and other useful extras
Type of stay
Nightly to yearly stays, or RV storage

Common questions
Questions before you start
Can I host if I only have one RV space?
Yes. HookHub works for a single usable RV space, and you don't need to run an RV park. You choose how many spaces to list and can add more spaces to your property later.
What if I don't have a sewer hookup?
You can still list. Full hookups aren't required. Describe exactly which utilities each space has and doesn't have, so renters with self-contained RVs can plan around it.
Can I choose what size RVs I accept?
Yes. You set the dimensions of each space and choose which rig types you accept. If your spaces differ, you can set these separately for each one.
Can I accept only monthly or longer stays?
Yes. Stay types are set per space, so you can offer only monthly and/or yearly stays. Monthly bookings require a stay longer than 28 days, and yearly bookings require at least a year.
Do I need to be home when a renter arrives?
Not necessarily. Your listing includes check-in instructions that renters see with their booking, so you can cover directions, where to park, and how utilities work ahead of time. Some properties still call for meeting the renter in person, such as tricky access or shared utilities, so choose what fits your setup.
Can I offer RV storage without anyone living in the RV?
Yes. Storage is its own stay type, separate from nightly, weekly, monthly, and yearly stays where renters occupy their RV. If you offer only storage on a space, it's listed for parking an RV, not living in it. Spell out access hours and rules in your listing.
Ready to see if your property could work?
You don't need a campground or dozens of RV spaces to get started.
